![]() ![]() It's much much more closed down than either Alfred or QS but comes with enough defaults to make up for it. QS works the same way with the first pane being an input the second an action and the third an optional argument, but when the original developer left the project I jumped ship to LB. I think of a file first, then the app to open it with. I think of the contact first, then to call them. With Alfred, it seems like I would need to custom write a "set file to green" workflow, which I can invoke by saying something like "green file", which is the wrong order for me. I first think of the file, so I search for it. My main problem is this: Say I want change the label of a file to green. ![]() The only thing I can find is something from 2011, which is an extension not a workflow and as far as I can tell extensions and workflows aren't compatible.īut forget about that. OK, so I googled how to rename a file in Alfred (without leaving the app). So my question is: how would you go about doing these sorts of things in Alfred? I've considered alfred before but didn't switch because I never imagined it could replace either one of these, but then it could be that neither of those things I described is "the Alfred way of doing things". I can select a contact, hit tab, send it to skype and it'll make a call. I can search for a folder, hit tab, search an other folder and it copies things. holding command-space with files or texts or whatever selected pulls them up in launch bar etc.Įqually important for me is hitting tab to give things as inputs to other things.cmd-shift-n creates a new folder inside a folder,.First, it has tons of shortcuts for common tasks of things. I love using launchbar for a couple of reasons. I'm a current launchbar user, and I'm thinking of switching. ![]()
